Let's Brunch!
Ahhh, Sundays. The day you get to sleep in, recover from all the wine you’ve had, and start all over again with a nice big mimosa or bloody. Ok, so maybe only part of that is true (the part about the wine, no doubt!), but when the opportunity for a brunch outing arrives we jump to it! Is there a better way to end the week, or begin the new? We think not!
This week we headed Snax Gastrobar to kick off our Sunday Funday. Tucked neatly onto the corner of Watson and Potomac rests this adorable, relaxed gastropub featuring modern American fare. You know where J. McArthur’s used to be? That’s the place! It’s the newest addition to the Robust fam, our good friends from Old Webster Groves. Snax is known for late night eats, dinner and comfort food but let me just state right now that their brunch is not to be missed! We were NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! Wow! Blown away by the love that was put into our meal – I mean, you could taste it! And it’s not just the food, the drink specials that day consisted of the bottomless bloody bar (which we opted out of simply for the idea of saving room for more food) and a BOGO mimosa (which skipped this too because it felt more like a beer-drinking kinda Sunday). Shame on us, right? I guess we’ll just have to go back. 😉
We ordered the Snax Poutine and Traditional Eggs Bennie with an extra side of hash. Can you say comfort food to the max, Snax?!?! So. Stinking. Delish. The food was fresh, rich and well-prepared. How do I know these things? Honestly, I go by taste and past experiences. . Trust me. I eat … A LOT – and brunch is one of my very favorite things! This one gets the gold seal of approval. And listen to this! Taco Tuesday. $2 tacos. WHAT!?!?!? Snax has officially been added to our go-to list for brunch and we are definitely going back for their late happy hour and dinner!
How’s the seating sitch, you ask? Plenty of space inside and out! Grab a spot at the bar, a table, or on their patio. We opted for patio seating since it was a gorgeous day – no regrets there, either! And, it didn’t take long to notice the cozy comfy lounge spot where kids were eating and watching cartoons on a flat screen. They were completely entertained while their parents enjoyed brunch. Superb!
